What are “fillers,” and how can they help you look your best?

As we age, we naturally lose volume in the face. Those cheeks that we lamented for being too round in youth can appear shallow in middle age, making us look even older than we are.

For the patient that wants to restore that youthful fullness and reduce the appearance of deep lines (think of those curved smile lines that adorn your mouth), or puff up a pout, dermal fillers are a fantastic option–especially when combined with Botox. There are many different filler options on the market, but the products our injectors use most often are:

  • Juvederm
  • Juvederm Voluma
  • Radiesse
  • Perlane
  • Beletero
  • Sculptra

The nurse injectors at St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery are always on the lookout for new fillers, and new educational opportunities to best treat patients. Just last week, Debbie and Martha hosted a noted plastic surgeon from New York, Dr. Richard Swift, to brush up on new Sculptra techniques. This month, Sculptra is our filler special, so this is a great time to try this amazing product, if you haven’t already.
