Customizable Procedures

Breast Augmentation

Before, after, and during pregnancy and childbirth many changes appear in the breast. As a result, your breasts may gain and then lose volume which could cause sagging. During your consultation, your surgeon will be able to examine the changes in your breasts and recommend either a breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, or a combination of the procedures.

Tummy Tuck

Muscle damage and skin laxity come with pregnancy as the abdominal muscles begin to stretch to make room for your baby. The excess skin and weight may transfer to your hips, thighs, abdomen, and even buttocks. Our board-certified surgeons are able to repair the weakened abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin that you may have with the tummy tuck procedure.

Liposuction

Liposuction can be performed on the areas that hold pockets of fat that are diet and exercise-resistant. Liposuction is usually performed in conjunction with any of the other procedures.

Labiaplasty

The labiaplasty procedure restores sensitivity to the vaginal areas and can correct the aesthetic appearance to this delicate area that could have been changed due to childbirth.

Consultation Process

During your consultation with one of our four surgeons, you will discuss your procedure goals and options. After that, your surgeon will recommend a procedure plan that aligns with your goals and fits your specific case needs. Click here if you’re ready to schedule your consultation.

What is Recovery from Mommy Makeover like?

Immediately after:

Depending on the procedures performed, every patient will have different sensations and experiences. The tummy (abdomen) will be sore and tight but usually responds very well to oral pain medications and muscle relaxants. Resting in a “flexed position” with your back elevated and feet raised increases comfort. Sitting in a chair or on a couch with legs elevated is encouraged. Walking 3-4 times a day helps decrease pain and swelling.

If breast augmentation and/or a breast lift were performed, most patients will feel tight and swollen, similar to the engorgement they felt during pregnancy and nursing. Gentle arm movements will help with this. A snug postoperative bra helps relieve this feeling. Some patients find ice packs improve their discomfort, others not so much.

Areas of liposuction will be sore and swollen. Some bruising can also occur.

One week:

If drains have been used for their “Mommy Makeover”, these may be removed usually around 5 to 14 days after their surgery. Many patients can switch from their post-op bras to comfortable and supportive sports bras. Swelling in the breasts with a sensation of “riding too high” is common but will begin resolving. Swelling may not equal or even on both breasts so some asymmetry is not uncommon at first and resolves over the first weeks or so.

Most patients are walking upright. Driving for short distances can begin around days 7 to 10. Patients can begin working from home as soon as comfortable or return to a desk job around day 10 or so. Occupations requiring more vigorous or strenuous activities will require a slower return after surgery.

Two to three weeks:

Most patients will stop wearing compression or shaping garments around 4-6 weeks after their surgery. Wearing a bra at night still may be recommended especially after a breast lift. Patients can begin returning to exercise with a plan for a slow and gradual increase in intensity and duration. Most patients are back to normal exercise by 3 months or so after a “Mommy Makeover.” Some areas, (lower abdomen, love handles, and around the breast incisions may still have numbness which will resolve over the next months.

Most of your “final look” will be present but it will take up to six months or so for their “New You!” look to arrive.
