Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia is experienced by many St. Louis men and is characterized by overly large breasts. This condition may be caused by various issues, such as hormonal imbalances, certain medical conditions, excess fatty deposits, and some medications. A male breast reduction from St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery can sculpt the chest into a more masculine shape and alleviate the embarrassment many men experience because of their overdeveloped breasts.
St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery offers men increased confidence about their bodies with breast reduction surgery. Request a consultation online or call (636) 530-6161 to set up an evaluation with one of our surgeons.
Enlarged male breasts are usually reduced using a combination of liposuction and tissue excision techniques. Your surgical approach will be determined by the ratio of breast tissue to fat cells present in the breast. In some cases, men who are overweight and have not yet tried to reduce their chest through diet and exercise may not be good candidates for surgery.
Male breast reduction is typically performed under general anesthesia. A very small incision is made on the chest wall and liposuction is performed using extremely fine cannulas. In some cases where excess breast tissue is present, some skin and tissue excision may be required.
