A tummy tuck is most often performed after pregnancy or a large weight loss. When the muscles and skin have been stretched and refuse to return to a normal position, all the sit-ups in the world will not correct this problem. A surgical procedure to tighten the muscles and remove excess skin is necessary. A tummy tuck can be done in several different ways from a mini version to a full procedure depending on what is needed to obtain a good result.

Dear Dr. Huffaker,
I just wanted you to know that I ran my first half marathon today. I finished in 2:34. Today would have never been possible if I had not had my tummy tuck in December. It has been four months, and I feel like I can do all of the things I had put off "until". My boot camp girlfriends were wonderful in helping me try longer distances. I have been running with them on their shorter run days and I've felt great. I took the number and place of a friend who suffered an injury and I actually ran all but two blocks of the run-(love those water stops). The crowd and excitement of the day got me out of mile nine and into thirteen before I knew it! My girlfriend ran the whole way with me, so I had a great coach. (She's registered for the Iron Man Triathlaton this year!) I surprised everyone by running the whole thing. I surprised myself. I have no excuses or issues keeping me from trying new things and achieving new goals. I'm thrilled and so thankful to you for helping me reclaim myself. My girlfriend took this picture from her I phone today.
