Who Is a Good BOTOX Candidate?

BOTOX is suitable for healthy, non-smoking individuals of any age with relatively elastic skin. People in their 20s and 30s benefit from “pre-juvenation” treatments, which prevent or delay the formation of wrinkles. You should not get BOTOX if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have known allergies to any of the ingredients in BOTOX.

Types of BOTOX

We offer two types of BOTOX treatments. First is the traditional approach in which the injection temporarily blocks nerve signals to the muscle, causing it to relax. The other technique, called “microtox” injection, uses BOTOX more superficially, not in the muscles. This creates a firmer, smoother appearance on the face, neck, and décolleté.

BOTOX Treatment Areas

BOTOX’s versatility has made it a staple treatment for on and off-label uses. Our highly trained and skilled injectors commonly use BOTOX to treat:

  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines (“11” lines)
  • Overdeveloped masseter (jaw muscles)
  • Neck banding
  • Chin dimples

Watch Dr. Deniz Sarhaddi perform BOTOX on a patient’s masseter muscles in the video below. In addition to easing TMJ pain from teeth grinding, this procedure can slim a patient’s face, particularly if the overdeveloped “chewing” muscles have created a square or boxy face shape.

BOTOX Benefits

Following treatment, our BOTOX patients look forward to enjoying:

  • More youthful-looking skin
  • Refreshed, relaxed appearance
  • Slimmer jaw
  • Enhanced chin contours
  • Smoother neck

What Is BOTOX Recovery Like?

BOTOX requires little to no downtime after treatment, meaning you can resume your daily activities immediately. However, we advise you to keep your head elevated for at least 8 hours and to avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas to prevent the product from spreading.

Your results will gradually emerge within a few days and typically last 3 to 4 months. Many patients choose to schedule quarterly maintenance treatments to preserve their rejuvenated look.

BOTOX FAQs

Will BOTOX make me look frozen?

No. BOTOX doesn’t immobilize the muscles. It will disrupt the nerve signal that causes the muscle to contract, but in carefully controlled doses, the effect is natural-looking rather than frozen.

Will my wrinkles get worse if I stop using BOTOX?

While many patients are comfortable maintaining a consistent BOTOX routine every few months, some may decide to take a break or stop altogether. During these breaks, the injection is naturally metabolized, and your muscles will revert to their pre-treatment state.

How you care for your skin during this time may affect the appearance of new and existing wrinkles, but generally, stopping BOTOX won’t worsen your wrinkles.

Can I combine BOTOX with other procedures?

Yes. BOTOX is popularly used as a complement to a facelift. Patients who aren’t ready for surgery may combine BOTOX with dermal fillers for a “liquid facelift.”
